    • The year three London MBBS student handbook - includes objectives, topics and cases.

    • One essential component of a teaching portfolio is student (learner) feedback.

If you are teaching Barts students and you would like some feedback for your portfolio, you can show a personalised QR code to the students and they can fill out feedback that will be emailed to you 24hrs later (so that they can write freely). Barts medical school keeps a copy of this including the students’ details if there are any issues. This feedback will be counted toward an annual bedside teaching award – In summer 2024 this was presented by the Prime Minister of Malta at graduation.

You are welcome to use the same system for other students or learners, but note that a copy will come to Barts, so make sure that the students are happy with that.

This document gives stepwise instructions on how to generate your personal QR code.

You can save it from the form itself before you hit submit, and/or you can click on the link that is emailed to you.

    • The Annual Review of Teaching is a new, friendly voluntary process to help you reflect on your teaching over the past year and plan ahead your educational development with purpose. It’s not an assessment—it’s a chance to celebrate your personal successes, identify areas for growth, and set meaningful goals in a structured but supportive conversation.

      ·         Personalised & Practical – tailored to your teaching. You will automatically receive a copy of your ART Review by email.

      ·         A Fresh Perspective – discuss ideas, successes, and challenges, which are then entered by consensus on the ART.

      ·         Portfolio Ready – build evidence for your teaching portfolio that is particularly useful to all educators – whether specialist, generalist or those in training.

      ·         Future-Focused – set clear, achievable next steps.

Time to fill out: 20-30min. All sessions with the ART Reviewer will be carried out at a convenient time at your place of work to fit your busy schedule.

We will be setting up an online booking form for ART, but for now simply email Dr Joe Dimech j.dimech@qmul.ac.uk with your details and place of work, and he will be happy arrange a time and location to meet with you.
