    Choose one module from:

    • MTH5123 Differential Equations
    • MTH5124 Actuarial Mathematics I
    • MTH4000 Programming in Python I

    Semester B

    Two compulsory modules:

    • MTH5120 Statistical Modelling I

    Choose two from:

    • MTH5005 Programming in Python II*
    • MTH5103 Complex Variables
    • MTH5115 Linear Optimisation and Game Theory (previously called MTH5114 Linear Programming and Games)
    • MTH5126 Statistics for Insurance

    * Before taking MTH5005 you must have taken MTH4000.

    Year-long

    One compulsory module:

    • MTH5205 Professional Skills for Mathematicians (0 credits)

    Off-pathway modules

    Modules outside this pathway (normally a maximum of 15 credits) may be taken with School approval. Permission to select off-pathway modules will not be granted until the timetable is finalised in September 2024.

  • Year 3

    Semester A

    Three compulsory modules:

    • BUS341 Corporate Financial Management
    • MTH6141 Random Processes
    • MTH6154 Financial Mathematics I

    Choose one module from:

    • MTH6102 Bayesian Statistical Methods
    • MTH6134 Statistical Modelling II
    • MTH6138 Third Year Project (may be taken in either semester)

    Semester B

    One compulsory module:

    • BUS381 Advanced Financial and Management Accounting

    Choose three modules from the following list including at least one of MTH6155 and MTH6113:

    • MTH6101 Introduction to Machine Learning
    • MTH6110 Communicating and Teaching Mathematics (by approval in semester A)**
    • MTH6113 Mathematical Tools for Asset Management
    • MTH6138 Third Year Project (may be taken in either semester)
    • MTH6139 Time Series
    • MTH6150 Numerical Computing with C and C++*
    • MTH6155 Financial Mathematics II

    * Before taking MTH6150 you must have taken MTH4000.

    ** Participation in MTH6110 is subject to a selection process which takes place during semester A. If you are not selected to take part in MTH6110, you will need to change your module choice at the start of semester B.

    Off-pathway modules

    Modules outside this pathway (normally a maximum of 15 credits) may be taken with School approval. Permission to select off-pathway modules will not be granted until the timetable is finalised in September 2024. Off-pathway Level 4 or 5 modules will not be permitted.
