      Welcome to the Social Pre-Sessional Programme

      We would like to wish you a very warm welcome to the School of Finance and Economics at  Queen Mary University London. We are delighted that you have chosen to study with us. The September Pre-Sessional Social and Induction programme provides an opportunity to say ‘hello’ to all our new postgraduate students!       Introduction to Week 2

      Welcome to Week 2 of the Pre-Sessional Maths Course. This week we conclude the introductory topics which are applicable to all MSc. programmes:

      • Lecture 3: Probability distributions, covariances and correlations
      • Lecture 4: Estimation and hypothesis testing
      We then go on to consider some more advanced topics:

      • Lecture 5: Basics of derivatives and matrix algebra
      • Lecture 6: Basics of regression analysis

      The more advanced topics are recommended for Msc Banking and Finance, Msc Finance, and Msc Behavioural Finance, but students from all MSc programmes are very welcome to participate.
