In the last ten years, clinical practice in the specialty of critical care has evolved considerably through the application of clinical research. This module will provide knowledge and understanding of clinical and laboratory research methodology relevant to critical care. The module will also provide the skills necessary to conduct robust clinical audit to facilitate implementation of emerging research findings.
AIMS:
To provide a clear understanding of clinical and laboratory research of relevance to the practice of critical care medicine allowing objective review of current literature, interpretation of research where methodology is limited or variable and implementation of findings where appropriate.
To provide the capability to conduct robust clinical audit to a relevant clinical benchmark.
