    • TEACHING ARRANGEMENTS

Each learning session is based on the week’s topic.  Please check the information by clicking on the relevant tab.

      Learning Sessions and TutoriaLabs

      Learning & Laboratory sessions:

      • The module consists of 2 hours contact teaching sessions per week.
      • Each session will start with an interactive teaching period of 20-30 mins.
      • This will be followed by a laboratory period of 2 hours.
      • Much of the teaching and all the laboratory material will be used on Jupyter Notebooks.
      • The demonstrators and the lecturers will help students implement the coursework assignments.

The first four to five weeks will be focused on teaching the main data analysis techniques alongside key methods on model generation and validation. During this time students will participate in a formative assessment.

In subsequent weeks students will commence on their individual and group assessments during which they will be required to implement the techniques they have learned. Teaching sessions will now focus on more advanced data analysis methods and will include report writing and in-depth code documentation training.

      TutoriaLabs

These are the core learning experience of the module.

NB. How you engage with tutoriaLabs is crucial to your success.

      Preparing for the TutoriaLabs

      • Read the assigned reading thoroughly. Make good notes – don’t just highlight.
      • Review lecture notes and ask questions to enhance your understanding of the week’s topic.
      • Take a look at the QMPlus page of the module. Please have a think about how the week’s topic has a bearing on contemporary issues.
      • It is a good idea to prepare a productive question for discussion on the week’s tutoriaLabs.
      • BRING THE WEEK’S MATERIAL INTO THE TUTORIAL-LAB WITH YOU (physical or electronic copies)
