The Research Degrees Office will write to you formally to confirm the result of the examination, give you copies of the examiners’ joint report, and advise you of the procedure for making amendments.

The RDO will write to successful candidates advising them of the date of the award of their PhD, following which you will normally be invited by the Events Office to attend a graduation ceremony. Students will receive their award regardless of whether they attend a graduation ceremony.
