Section outline

  • Week  7 is a formal part of the semester when students should be studying and they may need to complete assessments during this week.  However, where possible, we avoid scheduling taught sessions during this week.  This gives students a chance to catch up on their studies from the first of semester.

For example, during week 7 you might:

    • Catch up on any asynchronous activities which you haven't completed and/or watch recordings from the synchronous sessions you didn't attend.
    • Look over all of your notes and handouts so far to identify any topics that you don't yet understand - use reading lists and online resources to fill in the gaps.
    • Complete any assignments that are due in week 7 or week 8.
    • Final year students can read papers for the research project / project skills dissertation.
    • If you have been ill or missed assessed coursework for valid reasons ensure that you have completed and submitted the requisite Extenuating Circumstances (EC) documentation via MySIS (log in to QMplus before you can open that MySIS link).
    • Revamp your CV and start looking for internships and summer opportunities (first and second years) or jobs and courses that you could apply for after graduation (final year students).

Hopefully everything has gone well in the first half of semester.  However, if you’ve encountered problems, don't forget that there are several places you can get support at QMUL, including:

        • Over the summer, we reviewed the assessments on the Biological Science programmes and, where possible, we de-clashed deadlines between modules.

The PDFs below contain assessment information for the 2025-26 academic year. Occasionally details of assignments may be altered, for example as a consequence of staff availability, taught sessions being re-arranged or other situations outside of our control.  Consequently you should defer to information provided by Module Organisers (MOs); the PDFs provided here are for guidance only and are superseded by information issued by MOs.

If you notice an inconsistency between information given below and that issued by an MO please contact the Programme Director, Dr Kashaf Junaid(kashaf.junaid@qmul.ac.uk)
