This module explores the crisis of the “post-political”, neoliberal age created by the "End of History" - the collapse of contending ideological forces in 1989. Through extended seminars and detailed discussion of key texts, students will consider what the “End of History” did to political and personal life, explore how and why protests, populist ructions and Brexit are now upsetting the post-political order, and debate where politics is heading, and what activists and citizens should do next.
