How do I made a module announcement to my students?

      Method 1:

      • On the module page make sure you are on the "module content" tab. Then under "General" you should see "announcements." Click on this.
      • Click "add discussion topic." You can then enter the subject and the text you wish to announce to students.
      • Click "post to forum" to finish. The announcement will take roughly 30 minutes to be sent out. This is to give you time to make any edits in case this is needed. You can also tick "Send forum post notifications with no editing-time delay" if you wish to cancel the delay.
      • Alternatively, if you click on "advanced" you can then see "Display period." Under this heading there will be an option called "display start." Tick the box next to this and you can choose the date and time for your announcement to go out.

      Method 2:

On your module page, look towards the right hand side and click on "compose course message" which should be underneath "Quickmail".

      • Use the "From" search bar to choose an email address to send your message from
      • use the "To" search bar to choose which students will receive the message. Choose "Student (Role)" to select all students on the module. You can also choose a specific group of students if you wish.
      • Enter the text you wish students to see in the "subject" and "body" sections
      • You can also attach a file and choose to schedule your announcement for a later time using the "send at" section.
      • Finish your announcement by clicking on "send message" at the bottom of the screen
