This module aims to introduce students to the economic framework that characterises emerging markets. The module will identify key factors which characterise emerging economies and those that are popular in the new empirical macroeconomic literature such as, what causes the emerging economies’ economic activity to fluctuate, what causes volatility and shocks, and thus how these impact upon the business environment of these countries. The module will address key trends and issues encountered in emerging markets that will facilitate identifying the problems multinational organizations encounter while doing business in emerging markets.
