KEY LEARNING POINTS COMMON INFECTIONS.

1. Staphylococal infections are common causes of skin disease and range from impetigo and folliculitis to staphylococcal shock syndromes.

2. Any annular lesions think of Tinea and look for tinea elsewhere e.g. nails, interdigital spaces.

3. Any itchy patient think scabies!! Remember to treat both the index case and all close contacts at the same time and repeat one week later.

4. Any purpuric rash or vasculitis remember Meningococcus.

5. Wart treatment can be complicated and time consuming and ensure the treatments are not more burdensome than the condition.
