Accessing EchoVideo (Q‑Review) via QMplus

Go to your QMplus module
Log in and open the relevant course. -
Find the EchoVideo (Q‑Review) link
- This may appear:
- In a dedicated tab (e.g. “Lecture Capture” or “EchoVideo”)
- Or within the main course area alongside other resources

3.Click the Q‑Review link
This will open EchoVideo (Q-Review). It will generate the recordings and content for that module. From here, you can move around the interface to access my library, courses, and collections, as well as other available content.
Accessing EchoVideo (Q‑Review) via Web Browser

- Make sure you have logged into QMplus first
- Where possible, we recommend accessing EchoVideo (Q-Review)via the link in QMplus the first time
- This helps set up your access correctly

Open your web browser
(e.g. Edge, Chrome, or Firefox) -
Go to the EchoVideo login page : https://echo360.org.uk

Enter your details
- Use your full staff email address e.g J.Seamons@qmul.ac.uk
- Click Sign in

Select your institution (if prompted)
- Choose Queen Mary from the list

Complete sign-in
You may be redirected through the usual university login process. This will load your Echo Video Library.
Understanding Your EchoVideo (Q-Review) Library
EchoVideo (Q-Review) provides different areas to help you find, manage, and access video content. These are organised to support both your personal use and your course learning.
Library
Your Library is your personal media space.
This is where you can find videos that you own or that have been shared directly with you. You can use this area to review, organise, and manage your own media content.
Courses
The Courses section contains recordings linked to your QMplus modules.
This is where you will usually access lecture recordings and other videos provided by your tutors to support your learning.
Collections
Collections are shared groups of media that you can create or join.
You can add videos to a Collection to organise content or share it with others, such as for group work or collaboration.
Please note: teaching recordings are normally shared through Courses, not Collections.

Uploading Content to EchoVideo (Q-Review)
Important: You must be signed in to QMplus or EchoVideo (Q-Review) with your QMUL email address to view this guidance video.
EchoVideo (Q-Review) allows you to upload and manage your own video and media content in one place.
You can upload a wide range of file types, including videos created using other software or external tools. This makes it easy to include recorded presentations, screen recordings, or other media as part of your studies.
When uploading content, you must ensure that you have the appropriate copyright permission to use and share the material.

Submitting video assignments
You may be required to submit a video assignment as part of your course. Please refer to this guide we have created and check your module for specific instructions on how to create and submit your video.
Editing Your Videos in EchoVideo (Q‑Review)
Important: You must be signed in to QMplus or EchoVideo (Q-Review) with your QMUL email address to view this guidance video.
EchoVideo (Q-Review) includes a built-in editor to help you make simple changes to your recordings.
You can use the editor to:
- Trim the start and end of a video
- Remove mistakes or long pauses
- Create shorter clips from longer recordings
The editor is designed for quick and simple edits, rather than advanced video production.

Making a Copy Before Editing a Video
We advise making a copy of the video before making any edits, so the original recording remains unchanged.
- Open your EchoVideo library.
- Find the video you want to copy.
- On the video thumbnail, click the three dots (ellipsis).
- Select More actions.
- Click Make a copy.
- When asked to confirm, select Confirm.
- A duplicate copy of the video will appear in your library.
- You can now edit the copied video without changing the original.
Creating Recordings
EchoVideo (Q‑Review) also allows you to create your own recordings . This can be useful for presentations, practice work, or creating video content for your studies.
There are two main ways you can record:
Universal Capture: Personal
- A downloadable application you can install on your computer to record your screen, webcam, or both. You will need to raise a ticket to request this.
- Important: You must be signed in to QMplus or EchoVideo (Q-Review) with your QMUL email address to view this guidance video.

Browser Capture
- A web-based option that lets you record directly through your browser without installing additional software.

Editing Captions and Transcripts in EchoVideo
Videos uploaded to EchoVideo will usually generate captions and transcripts automatically.
You can edit these captions and transcripts to improve accuracy and accessibility.

How to Edit Captions and Transcripts in EchoVideo
- Go to your EchoVideo library.
- Find and select the video you want to edit.
- Click to open the video.
- Select Transcript Editor.
Check and Edit Captions
- Open the captions to review the text.
- Check for errors, especially:
- Names
- Technical terms
- Subject-specific language
Edit Directly in EchoVideo (recommended)
- Click Edit Transcript.
- Click into the text and make your changes.
- (Optional) Add a speaker name and assign captions to them.
- The timing of captions will stay aligned automatically.
Save Your Changes
- Click Save as New Version.
- The original version is still available if needed.
Alternative Option
- You can export the transcript, edit it outside EchoVideo, and upload it again.
- Make sure you keep the same file format when re-uploading.
Result
- Your updated captions and transcript are now available.
- This improves:

- Search within the video
Lecture Recordings in EchoVideo (Q‑Review)
EchoVideo (Q‑Review) is Queen Mary’s lecture recording system, designed to help you revisit teaching sessions and support your learning.
What does it do?
- Allows you to rewatch lectures for revision and reinforcement
- Provides captions to support accessibility
- May include additional teaching materials recorded by your lecturer
How do I access recordings?
You can access your recordings by:
- Logging in to QMplus
- Clicking the EchoVideo (Q‑Review) tab in your module
- Following a link shared by your teacher
- Watching videos embedded directly in your module pages
Will all lectures be recorded?
Not all lectures are recorded. This depends on:
- Whether the teaching room is EchoVideo (Q-Review)‑enabled
- Your department and module setup
- The type of session (e.g. discussions or practicals may not be recorded)
If you cannot see a recording
There may be a few reasons:
- The recording is not yet available
- Your teacher is still editing it
- It will be released later
- The session was not recorded
If you are unsure, contact your module teacher or school learning technologist.
Will you appear in recordings?
- Cameras are focused on the lecturer
- You will not usually be filmed
- Your voice may be recorded if you speak
Important notes
- Recording availability varies by module and department
- Lecture capture is not available to students studying in China
