FAQs

I can't see my course, what should I do?

This guide assumes that you can log in to QMplus successfully, but that you can’t see the course areas that you want to.

Does the QMplus area exist and is it visible to students?
Firstly, you should be sure that the course area exists in QMplus. If your lecturer confirms that there is a course then that course might be hidden or not available to students. Please contact your course leader or departmental administrator to confirm whether your course is available to students. They are the only ones who have authority to make the course visible to students. However, if your colleagues (doing the same module) can see the course and you cannot or your lecturer has confirmed that the course is visible then please carefully follow the steps below:

1. New students – Students who have successfully completed Pre-enrolment and are officially registered on the codes will be able to see the course.  If you believe you should have access, but don’t, then you should check your module registrations in MySIS (https://mysis.qmul.ac.uk) and ensure that they are correct or contact your department administrator. For contact details please go to https://elearning.qmul.ac.uk/about-us/qmplus-local-school-administrators/.

2. Returning/continuing students – It is essential that you re-enrol and select your modules (by going to MySIS in order to gain access to QMplus.

Returning students please use this link for online re-enrolment

After completing your Module registration on MySIS, please wait until the next day to check whether you have access to the course area on QMplus because QMplus updates its record overnight.

3. If the information is NOT correct on MySIS:
It would appear that your enrolment data on MySIS is incorrect and you must get it updated. The QMplus Support Team cannot change this data for you, you instead must contact your departmental administrator to get the information corrected. You will see your courses next day on QMplus once this is done.

If you have followed these steps carefully and still you don’t see your QMplus area then please raise a ticket on The IT Service Desk or email its-helpdesk@qmul.ac.uk and attach a screenshot of your MySIS module registration – we will investigate it further and get back to you as soon as possible.

I can't log in, what do I do?

What happens when you enter your user name and password? Do you get a “We failed to verify your username and password.” error message?

If so, are you sure you are entering your username and password correctly? Your login details for QMplus are your username e.g. ab12345@qmul.ac.uk and the same password you use for all other QMUL services, such as email.

Are you able to log in to your email account using the same credentials?

If you think you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by visiting the password reset manager. Be aware that resetting your password will reset it for all QMUL services, not just QMplus.

If you are not getting a user name and password error but something else is happening, you could first try accessing QMplus through a different internet browser if possible. If you are using Internet Explorer, try Firefox or Chrome.

If you are still having issues then you will have to contact the ITS Helpdesk. Try to provide as much information as possible about the problem. Screenshots of what you are seeing are very helpful along with details of the internet browser you are using and where you are experiencing the problem from. Are you using a laptop and Wi-Fi? Are you on campus? At home? In another country? Giving as much information as possible will enable the ITS Helpdesk to investigate your problem quickly.

My timetable on QMplus is incorrect

If you have issues with the timetable on QMplus it is likely that your data in MySIS is incorrect. Please check your MySIS page to ensure you have been enrolled on the correct modules, via the link below;

Can I access a module from a previous year?

Students will normally lose access to their course area at the end of the academic year when the rollover takes place. Rollover is the process of removing student activity and data from live QMplus courses.

Staff and students can access a read-only archived version of a course area from a previous year. This can be done by clicking on the ‘archive’ quick link or footer links (highlighted below) at the bottom of QMplus and then searching for the course.

Can I use QMplus on my mobile phone?

Assuming you have a  phone with internet capability, you can open QMplus via a browser. The responsive theme means that it should display well on most mobile devices.
You can also use the Moodle app available via Apple App store or Google Play
There is also a link to QMplus within the QMUL mobile app.
