3. Online Timed Examinations
3.2. Cadmus
Cadmus is an online assessment environment, accessed through QMplus. It’s a new way for you to access, complete and submit written assessment tasks, designed to simplify the assessment process and support you as you learn. Below are some of the keys points to make you aware of:
· Cadmus will flag when content is copied and pasted from external sources (e.g., Word documents). This is part of its integrity features, so please be aware that this will be visible.
· Cadmus works with low connectivity and has an offline mode. Work is saved locally and uploads automatically when the connection improves.
· The exam paper will be loaded as an attachment (PDF) which you can download to read the questions.
Cadmus have kindly created a video for us about Cadmus works and how you will need to use this for your upcoming exams. Please ensure you watch this video before you take your exam.
If you wanted to look at some useful resources about how to complete an exam on Cadmus and other FAQs please refer to the Cadmus Student website.
We would suggest all students’ login to Cadmus before their first exam to ensure they can access the software. You can access Cadmus directly through your module page.
Your examination on Cadmus will be run like any other online examination at SBM but instead this examination will be hosted via Cadmus. One of the benefits of using Cadmus is the automatic submission feature, so at the scheduled end of your examination, the portal will submit any of the work you have completed, irrespective if you have pressed the submit button or not. Due to this feature, any exams hosted on Cadmus will not be given additional upload time or the 10 min grace period. Students who are given additional time, will still be awarded this if required.
